If you would like to try your hand at making really elegant floral cards for any occasion try following our step by step phtographic instructions in the galleries below. They focus on three basic paper crafting techniques decoupage, teabag folding and card weaving.

Decoupage

From the French - découper - to cut out, decoupage is the technique of layering increasingly smaller images on top of one another to produce a three dimensional result. It adds depth and texture to your cards. Diecut decoupage sheets are pre cut by a printer's die so that you can just pop them out of their backing sheet with your fingers. It saves a lot of time and makes it easier for those of us whose eyesight and dexterity isn't quite what it used to be. Try our latest Floral Elegance diecut designs to see just how quick and easy it can be to make beautiful and intricate cards. Pale Violet, Whites, Magenta and Deep Blue the images are drawn from some of nature's most pleasing colour combinations. Each diecut design has its own matching backing papers to as a perfect complement the foreground. Click on either of the links below to see either the sheet product or some sample cards.

Teabag folding

This is a paper folding technique developed by a Dutch lady, Tiny (pronounced Teeny) van der Plas. It consists of folding squares of paper into different shapes which are interlocked and then mounted on cards. They give substance and texture to cards and can be used to really dramatic effect.

Card Weaving

Really just as it sounds, card weaving is a technique to produce an excting background to a card by using interlocking strips of paper or card. You can also use ribbon or other fabrics to emebellish the background.
