This gallery includes a range of fused glass bowls, some of them "gravity drop" bowls, and some of them slumped into the mould. They are created with glass powders and/or enamels, and sometimes the inside is quite different from the outside, different colours and textures. All of them inspired by the natural worlds.
Inside the Yellow
This "gravity drop" bowl is 20 cm diameter, and 9 cm deep, and is made with glass powders and enamels, together creating a light texture inside. This video shows this yellow bowl against a backdrop of rosebay willow herb.
This glass bowl is 30 cm diameter, and 7 cm deep. It uses both glass powders and enamels, with the inside different from what is underneath, and yet very integrated. The video shows both sides, and how they look together with the light behind them.
Violet and Gold
This "gravity drop" bowl is 17.5 cm diameter, and 8 cm deep. It has been made with powdered glass which I have drawn into. In this video it has been taken to the sea where it catches the gold and violet light of the tidal streams.
This is a thick bowl, 30 cm by 7 cm diameter, and is designed with powdered glass and stringers, to catch some of the moving colours in the river. It is slightly different on both sides and the colours shift when it moves in the light.
Indigo and Pink Blossoming
This gravity drop bowl, 17 cm diameter and 8 cm deep, combines crackle glass with powder patterns, which creates interesting effects when it is slumped. It has been filmed in front of a plum colour shrub to highlight pinks.
Blues and Violets
This glass bowl is 16 cm diameter, and 5 cm deep. It has been photographed to catch the light from behind, to show off its inner patterning.
A Yellow and Blue Happiness
This bowl is 30 cm diameter, and 5 cm deep. It had been fused with both glass powders and enamels both of which have been drawn into.
Blue and Pink
Gravity drop bowl, 19 cm diameter, 9 cm deep, with both sides different in colour. The butterfly is not part of the bowl, but a moment in time inside this garden.
Blues with Green Gold
A gravity drop bowl, 20 cm diameter, and 9 cm deep, full of overlapping patterns created with powder and the slumpinmg processs. There is also a layer of gold and pearlescent enamel.
The Blue Dot
This bowl is 33 cm diameter, 7 cm deep. It was inspired seeing the image of this earth from Voyager, just before it left this galaxy.
Spirit of Contemplation
This bowl 26 cm diameter, 8 cm deep, was made with cut glass, glass powders and glass frit.
